Using Affirmations Magnifies the Law of Attraction
Positive affirmations are the best friend to manifestation. Practicing and using affirmations magnifies your ability to attract what you want into your life.
Affirmations are the words we use to talk about ourselves. They are the declarations we make about who we are and how things are in our lives and the world around us. When we use positive affirmations (auto-suggestions), our subconscious mind believes every word, and expands into limitless possibilities.
Using negative affirmations sends us into a downward spiral. Our goal is to use affirmations to program our thinking in a positive way. We want to carefully monitor the chat room in our minds, because a lot of the “fake” negative things we tell ourselves are impacting and manifesting our reality.
Your goal is to use affirmations as positive declarations to the Universe so that you can attract what you want. Affirmations, when practiced daily, will help you to maintain the vision for your big transformation.
Do Positive Affirmations Work?
Most of us are actively working to either bring new things into our lives, or eliminate those things that no longer serve us. Affirmations have been used for centuries by every culture in the world, and psychologists agree that what we tell ourselves about any situation can affect our feelings, behaviors and external reality. For example, the placebo effect, and self-fulfilling prophecies are real, and these realities begin with affirmations.
Ruminating on events from the past, or imagining possibilities for the future is almost always accompanied by affirmations, or self-talk. Without intentional thinking, these “opinions” we have in our minds become de facto (in effect) affirmations. Therefore, we want to have positive helpful affirmations, and not negative affirmations. Affirmations command the subconscious mind to plant its flag on our beliefs and we then continue to have our same thoughts. If we don’t change our affirmations, then nothing changes.
The Methods of Using Affirmations
Practicing affirmations involves repeating the statements over and over and over (and over) again, either in our minds, on paper, or out-loud. This type of repetition causes our minds to eventually believe that the statements are true. It is critical that we believe our positive affirmations, because these beliefs are the gateway to creating our future.
Further, if we do not design our own affirmations, then other people will do it for us. For example, children (and adults) who are told that they have positive value tend to excel, versus children (or adults) who are told that they are worthless.
Writing Affirmations
For many people, writing down their affirmations is a fabulous way to get started , because writing gives us space to be creative, and then reference later. You can begin by writing 5-10 affirmations that will benefit you for your specific goals. If you can’t think of anything that is positively true for you, then think of things that you desire to be true for you. Always write in the present tense, as if the affirmation is true right now. For example, “I am strong and the Universe knows I can handle anything that comes to me.”
Verbalizing Affirmations
Verbalizing your affirmations out-loud is also effective. If you can say the affirmations in front of a mirror while looking yourself in the eye, that can bring an intense level of feeling to the affirmation. Eventually, we want our affirmations to have feelings behind them. Affirmations + Feelings = powerful results.
Be sure to really believe in the affirmation in the moment that you are speaking it. If belief seems difficult at first, that’s OK. Keep practicing, because eventually the belief becomes real. Always speak to yourself in a loving, kind, and nurturing voice.
If you’re in a place where speaking out-loud is not easy or comfortable, then repeat the affirmations in your head. There is always chatter in the mind, so why not use that space to constantly repeat your affirmations?
Recorded Affirmations
Another technique for using affirmations is to either record them yourself, or utilize audio mediations that allow you to listen to them. You can use your own recordings, or those of others while relaxing or falling asleep at night.
Hearing Affirmations from Others
And finally, if you have a trusted friend who can repeat these statements to you then that is another method by which affirmations can work. As stated above, people are already telling you what they think about you, so why not make it positive? An example would be, “You are strong and the Universe knows you can handle anything that comes to you.”
One note on that last statement. This is a powerful affirmation that I have used when coaching people who get stuck and feel defeated. Inside of all of us there is a place of strength that our inner spirit knows about, but that our outer conscious self has forgotten.
Begin Repeating the Statements
Let’s say goodbye to our old negative self-talk patterns. You have permission to begin with a blank slate and start now with the positive, regardless of anything you’ve believed about yourself up until this moment.
As you’re replacing the outdated thoughts that no longer serve you, you can imagine tossing them into a big ocean where they will drift out to sea and dissolve.
You should write affirmations that resonate for you, but here are some starter affirmations if you’re stuck for ideas.
- Wellness is my natural state of being
- I love and approve of myself, and I am already enough
- I see opportunities and abundance everywhere I look
- I am grateful for all that I already have

You Are Ready!
Now you can practice your affirmations daily. Remind yourself of their importance and impact. Staying focused will help keep you motivated, and before you know it, you will begin seeing opportunities and helpers that were not in your awareness before now. Remember, these possibilities are already out in the Universe helping others, so all you need to do is tap into that source. Affirmations will help cast you in the stream, because you deserve to be there!
